Last weekend, Race Engineering was at Road Atlanta for the 2016 American Road Race of Champions. The weather was sunny and chilly all week proving to be a great forecast for some exciting racing. Friday was mostly qualifying with one Carolina Cup race in which Chris and Frank Graham with Graham Cracker Racing took home the win in T4, Allen Massey finished 6th in ITA, and Rob Trollinger finished 14th in SM. Saturday was filled with SARRC races. Rob Trollinger finished 5th in STL and 34th in SM, Allen Massey had an unfortunate mechanical failure and was unable to complete the race, and Chris Graham won his first ARRC Championship! Sunday was a day of mixed emotions as we had victories and misfortune. Mark and Ray Seiler with Rising Son Racing finished 3rd in class and Rob finished 18th in the SM Feature Race. Frank Graham went out for the 2nd Carolina Cup Race for the weekend on Sunday afternoon. He was drafting the car ahead of him when the car suddenly came close to stopping completely at turn 10. He swerved to avoid plowing into the back of the car and ended up hitting the car sitting on track that the first car was trying to avoid. As you can tell from the previous post, the car was unable to finish but luckily Frank wasn’t hurt and the engine remains strong thanks to a great engine builder **wink, wink**.
