The final test for our 13 hour cars will be tomorrow ar VIR. After weeks of preperation the Fusner Engineering/Race Race Engineering had several cars this past weekend at VIR for SARRC/ECR race. Steve Bertok clinched the Carolina Cup Pro Series Championship by placing 3rd, helping Steffan Tisserot and Dillon Machavern place 1st and 2nd! This secured Steffan’s spot for 2nd place in the Championship points!
This weekend was Dillon’s first race in his new Panic Motorsports car proving that not only is Steve Bertok a championship winning driver, but also a championship car builder as well)! Dillon drove the wheels off of his new black #10 1999 Miata, this young man has a VERY bright future! I had the opportunity to meet Dillon’s mother and spend some time with his father, who happens to be a very accomplished GT-1 driver himself, and our region is very fortunate that such a fine family in Spec Miata!
SARRC update: Steve Bertok is now leading the 2012 SARRC points race by winning his first race by a very large margin. Dillon was second in points, not bad for his first race at VIR. I guess I really better get to work on my new car, the competition is going to be REALLY tough in 2012!
ECR update: Saturday – 1st John Peterson, 2nd Skip Brock, 3rd Bertok/Machavern team! Sunday – 1st Bertok/Machavern team, 2nd John Peterson
Congratulations to you all! Thank you for choosing Race Engineering power! As always, CHAMPIONSHIP PROVEN!
