This past weekend we went off to Virginia International Raceway with Tom Fowler and OPM for the NASA Triple Lindy. It was believed that over 400 cars showed up to this event and considering how you get lots of track time you can only imagine how well this event ran. The weather being nice with a chill in the air made track times exceptional!
Saturday, Tom Fowler won the Sprint race in his new OPM blue and white Race Engineering powered 1.6 Miata. This OPM car is the one you need to rent for Rockingham if you want to check out a car that is top notch and is already a proven winner on its first outing!
Sunday was another story as the weather took a turn and rain moved in, the air got colder, and deer found their way on track leading to lots of carnage and wrecks during the 3 hour enduro. The race was ran by Bob Thornton and Michael Hartberger in the new OPM #99 Spec Miata while the team of Tom Fowler and Chris DeVinny ran Mr. DeVinny’s 1.6 Spec Miata.
Hartberger started the race and kept the #99 out in front and switched it over to Bob after a little over halfway into the race. Bob continued to lead the charge and kept it up front to bring home the win in his first ever NASA event! Tom Long finished second in ANOTHER Race Engineering powered car!! This weekend was fantastic and a great way to start off the 2007 racing season!
All cars passed tech and came home in one piece as we head to Savannah this weekend with the Pombo brothers, Matthew and Mark, as we look for our next victory!Follow us
